Holiday Travel Currency

Holiday Travel Money Options.

If you are looking to get some currency for a holiday or short trip you have a number of options and companies looking to exchange your sterling. You can go down your local high street and banks and travel agents will happily provide you with your currency requirements but it is unlikely you will get the best exchange rate. Alternatively you could use your debit card to get currency out of an ATM while you are abroad but check the small print as Natwest for example charges a loading fee of 2.75% plus 2% with a minimum of £2 per withdrawl. Alternatively you could get it at the airport but this is guaranteed to result in a poor rate of exhange compared to pre-ordering as companies like Travelex the worlds largest foreign exchange specialists offer a guarantee that you will get the best exchange rate if you order online but the rates they offer last minute holidaymakers buying at the airport are far worse. Finally you could get a pre paid currency card which since being launched in 2007 are gaining in popularity. Whatever you do though leaving it to the last minute will inevitably result in a poorer rate of exchange and less currency for your holiday.
