The standard policy covers cancellation up to £6,000 per person, lost luggage with ‘new for old’ replacement, passports and money plus emergency medical expenses up to £10 million in the event that a customer is injured or taken ill whilst away. John Lewis offer 24-hour Emergency Assistance so they will always be on the end of the phone, 24-hours a day, if a customer’s need them. John Lewis have a worldwide network of English-speaking agents, covering over 200 countries, who can assist with anything from a lost passport to a medical emergency. John Lewis are also in the position to provide cover for many existing medical conditions, which in most cases can be done online, provided you makes them aware of them before you travel.

John Lewis Travel Insurance launched in September 2010. The product is underwritten by AXA Insurance UK plc which also manages sales, servicing and claims handling.

European Travel Insurance is defined as the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, the continent of Europe west of the Ural mountains, Iceland, Turkey, the Mediterranean Islands, Madeira, Azores and the Canary Islands.

Annual multi-trip cover isn’t available to anyone aged 76 years or over. Single trip cover isn’t available to anyone aged 86 years or over.

John Lewis Travel Insurance offers optional Independent Traveller Insurance which covers flights, accommodation and other elements booked separately, rather than as part of a package. It includes disruption caused by a volcano, which many policies don’t cover. Additionally they can provide cover for golfing holidays, weddings and business travel and a wide-range of ‘hazardous activities’ including horse riding, deep sea fishing, jet skiing, snorkelling, wind surfing and water skiing.
